Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Vozelo is operated by Vozelo, an independent developer. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Vozelo app, what we do with it, and the rights you have. We’ve designed the app to collect as little personal data as possible — start here if you only want the short version: we don’t ask for your name, email, or contact info, we don’t sell your data to anyone, and we don’t run ads.
1. Information we collect
Vozelo does not require you to create an account or provide any personally identifying information to use the app. When you install or use Vozelo, the following information may be processed:
- Learning progress — which episodes and lessons you’ve completed, your position within episodes, phrases you’ve saved, vocabulary-review state, streak, and achievements. This is stored on your device and backed up to our server (a Cloudflare Worker with key-value storage) under an anonymous, randomly-generated identifier, so it can be restored if you reinstall the app. It is not linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity, and you can erase it anytime from Settings → “Reset progress & delete data.”
- AI conversation practice — when you practice with the AI tutor (“Caro”) by voice, your microphone audio is captured during the session; by text, your typed messages are captured. These are sent to our conversational-AI provider, ElevenLabs, to understand you and generate Caro’s replies. So the tutor can remember you between sessions, we store a short, distilled summary of each conversation plus a few details you choose to share (for example a first name, interests, approximate level, and topics discussed) on our server under the same anonymous identifier — not a full transcript, and not linked to your real identity. You can erase this anytime from Settings → “Reset progress & delete data.”
- Device information — your device model, operating system version, and language settings. Used for crash diagnostics and to ensure the app runs correctly on your device.
- Subscription data — if you subscribe to Vozelo Pro, your subscription status is verified through Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) via a service called RevenueCat. Apple and Google never share your name, email address, or payment details with us. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous identifier tied to your subscription.
We do not collect: your name, email, phone, or address; your contacts, calendar, photos, or camera; your precise location; any data that we would sell to or share with advertisers. Your microphone is used only while you are in a voice practice session, as described above.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Operate the app — play audio, sync transcripts, save your progress and bookmarks.
- Power AI conversation practice — process your speech and messages so Caro can understand you and reply, and remember your past sessions to personalize practice.
- Verify your subscription status with Apple or Google so paid features unlock correctly.
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
3. Third-party services
Vozelo relies on a small number of third-party services to function. These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:
- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and subscription processing. Apple Privacy Policy · Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Cloud Storage by Google — hosts the audio and transcript files the app downloads. Firebase Privacy and Security
- ElevenLabs — powers the AI conversation tutor (speech recognition, the conversational AI, and text-to-speech) during voice and text practice. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — verifies subscription status. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
4. Children’s privacy
Vozelo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and want their data addressed, email us at contact@vozelo.app.
5. International users
Vozelo is operated from the United States. Subscription processing happens locally through Apple or Google in your country. If you use the app outside the U.S., the limited anonymous data described above may be processed in the U.S. (and other countries) by our service providers, including Google (Firebase) and ElevenLabs. By using the app, you consent to that processing.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as GDPR (European Union/EEA) or CCPA (California):
- Right to know what data we have about you. For Vozelo, the answer is typically: anonymous usage and conversation data tied to a random identifier, not to your identity.
- Right to delete your data. In the app, Settings → “Reset progress & delete data” erases both the on-device data and your server-side backup and conversation memory. Uninstalling also removes local data. To cancel or request a refund on subscriptions, contact Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) directly.
- Right to opt out of sale. Vozelo does not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights or ask questions, email contact@vozelo.app.
7. Data security
All network connections between the app and our servers use HTTPS/TLS. Files stored on Firebase are encrypted by Google. No system is perfectly secure, but we minimize what we collect specifically to reduce risk.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Significant changes will be announced in-app.
9. Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy or how Vozelo handles your data, email us at contact@vozelo.app and we’ll respond within a few business days.
